This 7-day wildlife safari to Rwanda has been crafted based our own passed experiences. One of the most magnificent, cleanest nations in East Africa, Rwanda is endowed with an abundance of flora and animals. Game viewing will be done in Akagera National Park. The next stop will be Nyungwe National Park, which is home to 13 different species of primates and ofcourse It will be your last time that your eyes will see mountain gorillas in their native habitat – volcanoes National Park.
Our company driver guide will be happy to greet you and give you an overview of the ultimate 7-day Rwanda tour when you arrive at the designated pickup location. You will receive a briefing on Rwanda and what to expect from the safari while drinking a glass of juice. Thereafter, get to the comfort of your seat, with the seatbelt securely positioned and take the road to the only savannah park in the country; a host to a plethora of wildlife species and the African Big 5. For around 4-5 hours, you will be on the road, admiring undulating hills and scattered homesteads. When you get to the lodge late in the afternoon, you’ll have lunch, then relax in the gardens before evening and a sound sleep.
You will wake up very early to an enjoyable 3- to 4-hour game drive in one of the biggest savannah parks on the African continent. There is no guarantee that your favorite species will be present when you drive through the park, but one thing is certain; Luck will bring a number of them, including cape buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, oribis, giraffes, leopards, Rhinos, leopards, wild dogs, and more. The day’s checklist is completed by animals including birds, primates, reptiles, and more. You will eat a bush breakfast after the game drive, then lunch. The evening session will be held at Lake Ihema, where you will have to keep an eye out for animals like hippos and crocodiles during a boat ride. After everything is finished, you’ll head back to the lodge for dinner and a restful siesta.
After a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge, you will check out in order to take a journey from the realm of the big five cats to the habitat of chimpanzees, who are the closest living cousins of humans and share over 98 percent of our DNA. Watch the stunning scenery leading to the park, the scattered homesteads, and more. You will pause at the Nyanza Palace for lunch and traditional entertainment. After that, continue your journey to the park where you will be greeted with joy at the lodge for dinner and a restful snooze.
Go to where your cousins the chimpanzees are playing, eating, and relaxing before dawn after filling up on a hearty breakfast. The chimpanzee trekking begins with a pretrekking briefing, during which the ranger guide gets to inform you of the trekking dos and don’ts and check your documentation. It takes between one and six hours to complete this walk, plus an additional hour for shooting pictures, learning about chimpanzees, and other activities. Along with chimpanzees, you will also come across other primates, like baboons, colobus monkeys and more. Following this trekking adventure, you will have lunch break before capping the day with a canopy walk at the enormous tree branches. You have an opportunity to see the monkeys, the scattered homesteads, and the spectacular scenery from the summits. After dinner, retire for the night.
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll head to the national park of the volcanoes to start your day. The journey takes 4-6 hours and is characterized by dense vegetation, undulating hills, and sporadic homesteads. As you navigate the turns, hills, and valleys, the driver guide will tell you stories and make you laugh. You will make a pit stop for lunch and some refreshments. When you get in the park in the evening, you’ll head to the lodge for leisure, dinner, and a sound sleep.
Earlier today after your hearty breakfast, You might choose to (Optional) go gorilla trekking at extra fee 1500$ per person where will drive to the park headquarters after a leisurely breakfast at the lodge for a pre-tour briefing. The ranger guides will be happy to greet you and lead you to the gorilla world there. The ranger guides will assign you to a gorilla family to track and will go over the dos and don’ts of hiking with you. The gorillas are a family that live together and protects its territory under the leadership of a dominating silverback. From last location where the apes were sighted to the location where they are believed to be feeding, the trekking exercise takes between one and six hours. The trek to the apes is not in vain because you will also come across rare plant species, birds, and other primates in the jungle, including baboons, vervet monkeys and more. You will return to the resort for lunch and refreshments after the gorilla trekking exercise.
The morning breakfast is always delivered on time, Today you will trek golden monkeys in their natural habita and later transfer to kigali. After a successful trek With your eyes fixated on the plants, ears tuned to the sounds of birds and more, you get a chance to stretch your legs while taking in the different flora and fauna. A ranger guide will lead you through the approved trails for about an hour as you take in the breathtaking scenery, unusual plants and wildlife. After saying goodbye to the Volcanoes National Park, travel for roughly two to three hours to Kigali, Rwanda. Visit the nearby historical and cultural landmarks before relocating to your drop-off point.
